St. Paul’s Church Bookkeeper Position

Responsibilities:

  • Prepares and records all incoming deposits of checks and cash.

  • Records all financial transactions, including cash payments, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.

  • Prepares quarterly and yearly contribution statements.

  • Processes payroll and pays all approved church expenses.

  • Assists with tax preparation (payroll and sales tax).

  • Processes manual journal entries as needed to ensure the accuracy of the church’s financial records.

  • Assists St. Paul’s Treasurer.

  • Other financial tasks as required.

Qualifications:

  • Associate degree in Accounting or related field (preferred).

  • 2+ years of experience as a Bookkeeper.

  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and procedures.

  • QuickBooks Online software knowledge (preferred).

  • Accuracy and attention to detail are essential.

  • 10-15 hours per week in the church office, hourly rate based on experience
